Hiếu wins gold at World Muay Thai Championships

HÀ NỘI – Vietnamese fighter Huỳnh Hà Hữu Hiếu brought home a gold medal from the World Muay Thai Championships in Bangkok, Thailand over the weekend.

Hiếu beat Rudzma Abubakar of the Philippines in the final of the women’s  四 五kg category to take the title.

This is Hiếu’s first world title and the first gold medal for Việt Nam's delegation at the world championships this year.

Việt Nam has also won four bronze medals at the tournament. They were won by Khuất Văn Khải in the men’s  四 八kg, Nguyễn Quang Huy in the men’s  五 四kg, Triệu Thị Phương Thủy in the women’s  五 一kg and Nguyễn Trần Duy Nhất in the men’s  六0kg.

Việt Nam sent  一 七 martial artists from Hà Nội, Thanh Hóa, Bình Dương and HCM City to the event, which attracted more than  一,000 competitors in  一 五 weight classes.

The Muay Thai World Championships, which is also the second qualifying event for the  二0 二 一 World Games in the US, will end today. – VNS
